Will Wieler, AScT
I have a strong construction background having many years of hands on trade experience ranging from small residential to large commercial projects. This experience and the Municipal Engineering Diploma I received from Red River College enabled me to step into a construction project management position. I moved from Manitoba to BC in 2005 and spent nearly 4 years working for a construction company in a technical capacity. I made the switch to Municipal Government in 2008 and have moved from the Senior Engineering Technologist position to the Engineering Manager position. I currently manage a successful department that provides exceptional service as well as executes many small and large capital projects.
Why I Became A Technology Professional
- I decided to become a technology professional because I have a practical approach to problem solving and coupling that with technical training and subsequently a technology career seemed like a logical fit.
Professional & Community Activities
- I am currently the president and founding member of a local society called the Ethiopian Canadian Families Association (ECFA). We plan and execute community building and fundraising projects where the funds are used for scholarships for local kids.
