Career Experience

Obtained my Journeyman Electrician qualifications in 1986. Moved into electrical engineering design and became a registered Applied Science Technician (CTech) and then upgraded to Applied Science Technologist in 2002. Became a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2004. Worked for UBC Utilities from 1992 to 2001. Then moved to BC Hydro Distribution Engineering in 2002 to present.

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • To advance my career in the electrical engineering field. From a Journeymen Electrician, developed an aptitude and interest in electrical engineering and became an Applied Science Technologist while working as an Electrical Engineering Assistant.

Career Highlights

  • Designed new underground feeder installations for major municipal utilities
  • New overhead distribution circuit tie between Lytton and Spences Bridge
  • Managed the first BC Hydro Remote Community Electrification project for the community of Toad River
  • Design and manage the BC Hydro distribution submarine cable system
