Career Experience

In 1993 I was hired as a drafter at Terasen Gas but then moved up to Utility Planner and eventually became a System Planner analysing and forcasting gas load growth. In 2002, after having my first daughter, I took a part-time position as a Planning Assistant with the District of Maple Ridge. In 2008 I was offered a unique position as a Site Grading Technologist dealing with hillside development. I am still with the District but as an Engineering Technologist working on development projects

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • When I was 10 my stepfather took me for a "ride along" while he was running a grader doing road repairs on the Alaskan Highway - ever since then I wanted to work in the civil field
