Career Experience

30+ years of experience in engineering design documentation, design realization and construction supervision having starting hand drafting at Read, Jones Christoffersen (RJC) in 1981.
During economic downturn of the mid 1980’s worked at a local Architectural firm, coordinating structural content with architectural design. Later returning to RJC, was at the forefront of transition to CAD technology and later involved in field review of building structures.
Moving from RJC to Bush, Bohlman & Partners in 1992, CAD position evolved into field review of building structure design, coupled with shop drawing and test report review. Recent changes in building industry direction and methodologies have seen the evolution from 2D to 3D for project delivery expanding my role to include implementing the Revit software technology.
Recent major local and international projects include; Seismic upgrade/expansion to the iconic Science World, Pier C Expansion to domestic terminal at YVR and new state of the art US Terminal at the Nassau, Bahamas Airport.

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • Having grown up during the space race and witnessing the moon landing I have always had a fascination for science and technology. My Father ran a Mechanical engineering business and my oldest brother graduated in electrical engineering so technical conversation and applied thinking was encouraged at home. Many years of model building, meccano and constant tinkering eventually prepared me for my future career.
