Career Experience

I worked sixteen years in industry in manufacturing, production engineering and project management. Working with a broad range of manufacturing facilities in Greater Vancouver area. I kept in touch with BCIT, organizing industrial tours for students, coordinating student projects and hiring BCIT Graduates by keeping in touch with Program Heads. I was hired by BCIT as a Program Consultant for Part-Time Studies and worked with Program Heads from all of the Engineering Technologies for 24 years.

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • Membership was encouraged by BCIT staff (1966) and I wanted to be part of a professional organization that recognized technical education and would enhance my career. I was so proud to be a member that I volunteered at the first available meeting.

Career Highlights

  • Becoming a Certified member.
  • Chair of the BCIT Mechanical Advisory Committee while the Mechanical Systems Option was created.
  • Recognized on the 20th Anniversary of BCIT for contributing to the growth and development of the ins
  • Being granted Life Membership in 1997 & recently recognized for 40 years of Continuous Membership

Professional & Community Activities

  • My wife Iris and I served on the executive of the local Community Association for 30 years. We also supported and actively participated in scouting and church youth organizations.
    We are currently active lifetime members of the congregation at St. Andrews United Church in Fort Langley.
