Career Experience

Have taken advantage of the opportunities presented to me since graduating high school. I have worked in the petro-chemical refining industry internationally since 1981, working my way up from the drawing office to site construction management and into a senior home office construction management positions.

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • I grew up in a family of millwrights, wanted to do something different than working on the tools. When I set out on this path, I had no clear goal of what I wanted to be or where I wanted to get too, have just followed what has been presented to me. Firmly believe that you don't choose your career it chooses you.

Career Highlights

  • Obtaining Licentiate and Degree. Achieving AScT Designation
  • Achieving full Charter Status (MCIOB) with the Chartered Institute of Building (UK)
  • Successful completion of construction and handover of Ethylene Plant for QChem, Umm Siad, Qatar.
  • Successful completion of construction and commissioning of Saih Nihyada Gas Plant, Oman.
  • Successful completion of construction and handover of UE-1 Hydrogen Plant, Syncrude.

Professional & Community Activities

  • Sat on the Board of Directors of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (2006-2009). Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (UK), participate in Institute activities through the Americas Branch. Participate in the City & Guilds Association.
