John Shortreid, AScT

Career Experience
After graduation from BCIT I spent 38 successful and rewarding years within the mapping, remote sensing and GIS industry as a Geomatics Technologist (AScT) and was CEO of my own company for 20 years of that time. I also obtained my commission as a Canada Lands Surveyor (1982). My career has also included an active involvement with ASTTBC, having been a member for 40 years. I have served on or chaired every major committee of the Association including Council (President 1981 to 1983) and FEAT.
Why I Became A Technology Professional
- I chose a career as a Geomatics Technologist due to my aptitude and interest in geography and mapping. I chose to belong to ASTTBC (1969) for recognition of my credentials as a professional for the supply of work and services in Geomatics.
