Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • Carla completed high school in Calgary and graduated from SAIT in 1986 with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. "As a child I would take graph paper and plan out my bedroom (many times!) and those of my friends," says Carla. "I was always measuring furniture and would move them around to create unique hiding or reading places . . . so I think I was destined to work in this industry."

  • Outside work Carla's focus is her children and an active lifestyle. "We love to hike with our dog Olive, paddle board in the summer and travel to spend time in the mountains with cousins," says Carla. "I'm also committed to wellness and personal and professional development through workshops and retreats" Carla is a long time mentor to young designers (including those who don't work for her), she volunteers with her children's schools and supports local charities.
