Career Experience

In 1989 I was hired by a midsize civil and paving contractor as a Junior Estimator. I spent 10 years estimating and project managing for the company. In 2001 a Highway paving contractor bought the company I was working for and my position became Senior Estimator for both companies.
In 2003 I decided to start my own Civil Construction Company with one of the Superintendents I had worked with for 10 years. Our company focuses on subdivision development and municipal infrastructure projects in the Southern Interior of BC. My position is very similar to my previous job mainly Project Management and estimating.

Why I Became A Technology Professional

  • After completion of high school I went on to College with the goal of being an accountant. After completion of my first year and working at my father’s accounting firm, I realized this was not for me. I needed a career that was not tied to a desk full time.

Career Highlights

  • • Estimator/Project Manager (BA Blacktop Kamloops)
  • • President (Con-Ex Civil Contractors Ltd.)

Professional & Community Activities

  • I have been actively involved in the Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) and the MMCD. I was Chair twice of SICA. In 1998 and again in 2003. In 2007 I was awarded the Howard Strong Industry Builder Award for outstanding service to the construction industry
Currently I am on the board of directors for MMCD and Chair of the Marketing and Education Committee.
